2006 Envision Seminole Assessment of Community Priorities

Envision Seminole recently released the results of its community-wide survey of community priorities. Click here for Summary Conclusions.

For details regarding the survey and the action plan, click on links in the Resource Center below.

Cookson Research Consulting, Winter Park, was contracted by Envision Seminole to design and conduct the survey. David Cookson presented the results of the survey.

Controlling traffic and growth were voiced as top concerns. Seminole voters are willing to take tough steps to confront growth and over-development, such as establish urban growth boundaries.

Establishing urban growth boundaries in Seminole County is favored by more than 3 out of 4 voters and a near majority strongly favors this action. Developing new water sources and treatment facilities may owe some of its broad support to fears about growth and its impact on the water supply.

The Envision Seminole Board of Directors and several stakeholder groups are now beginning work on an action plan, and we are looking for help from the community.

If you would like to participate in the action planning process or you would like to schedule a presentation of the survey results to your business or community group, please contact us at 407-562-1285 or e-mail.
